FM8 Synth

This software instrument by Native Instruments uses FM (Frequency Modulation) synthesis to create its depth, brilliance, and dynamism. In a more basic way, FM Synthesis is a way to create and design your own sounds by manipulating waveforms from scratch. This type of sound design allows for detailed control and true clarity since you are literally deciding how you want the waveform (sine, saw, triangle, square) to act. You can manipulate your waveform using harmonics, multiple waveforms, and a chain of commands that direct how a parameter is suppose to act and react.
