An audio equalizer is a device developed throughout the past century or so to affect the amplitude of select frequencies. The type of equalizer you choose will determine how you affect your signal, and with the options in today’s market they can seem endless. Starting out as an audio engineer or producer in 2023, there are no shortage of tools and plugins that you can utilize in your productions, and one of the most common would undoubtedly be an equalizer [EQ].
In an attempt to demystify the process of compression, let’s talk generally about their function as a physical circuit. To start we have to briefly remember that this was a technical process invented to attenuate (reduce in value) a desired signal and there is in fact math and electrical engineering involved.

Lien nominated for best original score for the feature film “X” at the annual Queen Palm international film festival hosted in Palm Springs. The score's intent blended electronics with manipulated string ensemble for a stark dramatics.
The Score for the Feature Length Film ” X” composed by Liema and Kevin De Nicolo is released on all streaming platforms. Features a mix of microtonal orchestral arrangements with fm8 sound design as well as pop tracks.
Come Away by Au Revoir Simone is the newest single from the indie-electronic band after there 4 year hiatus. This song was produced by Lien of Liema who was their #1 fan in her teens who became their friend over the past decade. This is their story.
